Edgar Peters is a writer and it is one of the things he enjoys to do most. He does invest a lot of time into his work but Peters uses experiences from his real life to make his stories more real and natural. Peters is a firm believer that people write mainly for one reason and that is to share emotions or ideas. When a person is writing a story they are trying to convey a feeling or idea to their audience. In order to write well someone has to be able to captivate their reader's thoughts. Make them become invested in the characters and the world of the book. A writer also has to be able take criticism from others because no matter how perfect your work make seem someone has an idea that could make it better. Peters enjoys writing short stories the most. Especially ones that focus around the desire to share a specific emotion whether it be sadness or happiness or something in between. Peters pulls his ideas from his life, when there is something that he feels is when the best ideas come to him. He feels the best help comes in the form of other people perspectives. If he is trying to get a point of view for a character that he has not had himself Peters looks for a person who has been there. He does not write too much at home however this is a habit that should be broken. Edgar Peters is under the opinion that writing is one of the best ways to capture a moment and share it with friends or to keep private to remember a feeling.

About EdgarEdgar Peters loves reading, his journey with literature began at Rosebush elementary. Where he discovered the author Avi who caught his young imagination and inspired him to pursue literature. Avi's Dimwood series taught him to follow a story over multiple books and to feel compassion towards the characters in the story.
Most people tend to read for a couple of reasons. The first of these reasons are because they love to sit back and deafen out their daily life and relax. Another thing that draws people to books is the pursuit of knowledge and intellectual growth. Both of these factors contribute to what makes a good reader. Having the desire to sit down and analyze material whether it be for educational reasons or personal satisfaction are the building blocks to becoming a great reader. It also takes a certain level of commitment and focus, a reader has to be able to dedicate time to reading and be able to sit and fully immerse themselves in a book. Edgar is able to be captured by most genres of literature which is what makes it easy for him to read. Being able to relate to characters or becoming intellectually invested in research comes easy to him. However when a book is forced upon him to read, it takes away from the desire to set apart time to fully appreciate the literature. When choosing a book to read, Edgar looks for a piece that has a couple of qualities. First he looks for something that pertains to a subject or a story that interests him. An example could be anything from a book about a dystopian society to a love story. Second he looks at spoiler free reviews of the book and criticism to determine if it is worth the time it would take to read. Lastly he tries something different. He believes that if you never try a new genre that there is no way of knowing if you would enjoy it. Edgar reads infrequently at home as he leads a busy life. He is a full time student, employee, friend, pet owner, and athlete so at times it can be hard to find time in his days to read. However, while his reading is not the most prominent task in his day to day life, Edgar does think that reading is important in being able to understand how other people think and process the world that everyone shares. |
